New and renewal medicals

Taxi and private hire: we do council medicals for a new badge or a renewal.

D4: we do DVLA D4 medicals for a new licence or a renewal.

Liverpool City Council taxi drivers: your own GP, or a doctor who has reviewed your medical records, can sign. Bring a printout of your full GP medical records. Without them we cannot sign your taxi form.

Liverpool taxi medicals must be done no more than 2 months before your licence is granted or renewed.

Taxi drivers from nearby councils may have different checks. Check your own council's rules before booking.

D4 (Group 2) medicals have no council restriction. They are accepted anywhere in England.

D4 renewal: book about 6 weeks before your licence runs out.

Taxi renewal: your council sets the ages. Check your council.
